Presets FAQ

What are presets?

Presets are pre-made filters you can download and apply to your photos to boost the look and create a cohesive, content style. They are a formulated group of edits and effects that you can apply to any photo or collection of photos. A preset also has more flexibility than a filter because you can make adjustments once applied. When editing images, I adjust many different things in Photoshop or Lightroom to achieve the ‘Phoenix and the Ocean’ aesthetic. If you purchase my set of presets, you are purchasing the exact edits that I use to filter my photos you see on my instagram page and blog!

What do I need in order to use the presets?

For mobile usage, you will need the Adobe Lightroom app. You can find it in the app store, here. For your Desktop computer, you will need Adobe Lightroom installed, available here.

Will I be able to apply the preset with one click and not have to make any other changes?

All presets usually require some level of tweaking, depending on the tones involved, lighting conditions and location of the photo. These presets are designed so that you don’t need to make many adjustments to achieve the look you want. Usually, I test and apply all the presets to see which one is looking the best for each photo. If you still find you’re not getting your desired look, simply adjust the exposure, white balance or saturation.

What type of photos do these presets work best on?

These presets have been designed to achieve clean, crisp & bright imagery. They’re designed specifically to create a bokeh scandinavian look to interiors, flatlays, beach shots & product images. They work best when applied to high quality images taken in natural light spaces with an abundance of neutral tones. They are the same presets I use to edit all of my images you see on my instagram page.

Where will I find the presets once purchased?

You will receive an email immediately after payment is completed containing the files ready to download to your mobile device or desktop computer. Make sure to check your spam folder.

What is the difference between mobile presets and desktop presets?

The mobile presets are an easy click for anyone looking to quickly edit images on their phone. They can be applied to any photo taken from your mobile or in your camera roll.

The desktop presets are designed to be used with RAW or JPEG images from DSLR cameras. The desktop presets cannot be used on mobile devices.

Can I use the presets again on a new phone or new computer?

Yes! You will receive directions on how to download the presets on both your mobile device and computer. It is very important that you download all files to your computer and also save them to an external hard drive.
